Description
Named after İğne Oyası — the traditional Turkish needle lace worked along the borders of headscarves, each small motif carrying its own meaning within the community of women who make and wear it.
The pendant is made of layered fan forms, each one woven separately in right-angle weave with a striped bead sequence echoing the concentric banding of the lace. They overlap and rotate against each other as the piece is worn, making the layering visible in movement.
The bead crochet rope is striped to carry the same rhythm through the full length of the piece.
